Direct Torque Control Technique for Voltage Source Inverter controller imposes the time duration of the active voltage vectors, which move the stator flux along the reference trajectory, and the torque controller determinates the time duration of the zero voltage vectors which keep the motor torque in the predefined hysteresis tolerance band. Due to the good performance of brushless motor, its application is widespread. Brushless DC motor has following advantages that are low interference, low noise, high efficiency and so on, so it was widely used in industrial and control field. But DC motor has larger current commutation torque ripple, greatly reduce their reliability and stability.

This paper presents the control strategies for a novel dual-stator flux-modulated (DSFM) motor for application in electric vehicles (EVs). The DSFM motor can be applied to EVs because of its simple winding structure, high reliability, and its use of two stators and rotating modulation steels in the air gap. Moreover, it outperforms conventional brushless doubly-fed machines in terms of control. Abstract: Direct Torque Control (DTC) method is an excellent technique for torque and flux control for a brushless doubly-fed reluctance machine (BDFRM).

The advantages of the DTC method are simple implementation, fast response and little dependence on the machine parameters. However, the conventional DTC method has high torque and flux ripple and variable switching frequency by: 8. Direct Torque Control (DTC) method is an excellent technique for torque and flux control for a brushless doubly-fed reluctance machine (BDFRM).

Improved Direct Torque Control Method of Brushless Doubly-Fed Reluctance Machines for Wind Turbine. Direct torque control for brushless doubly-fed machines Abstract: Work has illustrated the potential benefits of brushless doubly-fed machines in adjustable speed drive applications.

While it has been shown that the drive is open-loop stable over a wide speed range, the resultant steady-state and dynamic performance characteristics are far from. In this paper, a direct torque control (DTC) strategy for the brushless doubly fed machine (BDFM) is presented.

After analyzing the mathematical model of this machine, the voltage vectors look-up table of classical DTC techniques is by: Direct torque control (DTC) is one method used in variable-frequency drives to control the torque (and thus finally the speed) of three-phase AC electric involves calculating an estimate of the motor's magnetic flux and torque based on the measured voltage and current of the motor.

Direct Torque Control (DTC) has been extensively researched and applied to most AC machines during the last two decades.

Its first application to the Brushless Doubly-Fed Reluctance Machine (BDFRM. A new algorithm for independent shaft position sensor-less control of real and reactive power (and therefore power factor) of the Brushless Doubly-Fed Reluctance Machine (BDFRM), a promising cost-effective candidate for applications with limited variable speed capability (e.g.

pumps or wind turbines), has been proposed in this paper. The algorithm is inspired by the fundamental dynamic and. This book presents the modeling, performance, design, and control of reluctance synchronous and flux-modulation machines developed for higher efficiency and lower cost.

It covers one- and three-phase reluctance synchronous motors in line-start applications and various reluctance flux-modulation motors in pulse width modulation converter-fed. The brushless doubly-fed reluctance machine (BDFRM) has been considered by academic and industrial communities as a potential alternative to conventional doubly-excited wound rotor induction machines (DEWRIM) in variable speed applications with limited speed ranges such as large pumps and wind turbines.

While offering similar cost benefits, afforded by the use of partially-rated power. Doubly fed electric machines are electric motors or electric generators that have windings on both stationary and rotating parts, where both windings transfer significant active power between shaft and electrical system.

Usually the stator winding is directly connected to the three-phase grid and the three-phase rotor winding is fed from the grid through a rotating or static frequency converter. Improved Direct Torque Control of a Brushless Doubly-Fed Reluctance Machine William K Song Supervisor: Prof.

Reluctance torque is the torque generated because the motor is moving to a position where the reluctance seen by the armature flux is declining.

A simple application of this principle is the refrigerator magnet, which is held in place by reluctance force. Because the reluctance along the path of the magnet flux is minimized when the magnet is as close as possible to (in contact with) the.

The Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM) has recently become an important research topic in the field of variable-speed AC drives. In recent studies, the BDFM has shown significant potential for improving the reliability and performance of AC drive systems, as well as reducing total system cost.

Doubly-fed electric machines also slip-ring generators are electric motors or electric generators, where both the field magnet windings and armature windings are separately connected to equipment outside the machine.

By feeding adjustable frequency AC power to the field windings, the magnetic field can be made to rotate, allowing variation in motor or generator speed. algorithm for brushless doubly-fed machines has been developed for reducing the torque and flux ripples in a brushless doubly-fed machine.
