Jackson Lake Dam to Oxbow to the next boat ramp out is an excellent choice. But you require a shuttle or need to hitchhike back to your not travel further than the next boat ramp b/c the river is very technical and although it looks calm, it has numerous obstacles and streamers which can be deadly.
Yellowstone I’d recommend the book “Death in Yellowstone” and “Hawks Rest”. Death In Yellowstone is a must read for anyone going to the park, with some useful insights about Yellowstone Lake in particular.
